The kitchen area can be used by the young person to both learn and practice new skills in preparing and cooking food.
The laundry area within the kitchen consist of an automatic washing machine and tumble dryer. An Iron and ironing board and a sink for hand washing are also available. Depending on their age it is expected that young people will make use of these facilities on a regular basis to build up independence/life skills.
Young people have access to the telephone to use in private, this can be access at appropriate times throughout the day. The telephone will be kept within the office and available on request.
The young people have access to a games room which includes a chill out area with corner sofa , a library area, a full size pool table, music system, 50″ plasma TV and games consoles.
The young person will be assigned a key worker who will take the lead responsibility in implementing the care plan.
Each young person will be actively encouraged to take part in aspects of their life and plan for the future. Young people will be encouraged to be actively involved in the local community.
The below floor consists of a self contained recently fully refurbished modern apartment and can be used for solo or semi-independent placements. There is a kitchen diner, a living room , a bathroom, one young persons bedroom , staff sleep in room and an office/staff sleep in room.
