The kitchen area can be used by the young person to both learn and practice new skills in preparing and cooking food.

The laundry area within the kitchen consist of an automatic washing machine and tumble dryer. An Iron and ironing board and a sink for hand washing are also available. Depending on their age it is expected that young people will make use of these facilities on a regular basis to build up independence/life skills.

Young people have access to the telephone to use in private, this can be access at appropriate times throughout the day. The telephone will be kept within the office and available on request.

The young people have access to a games room which includes a chill out area with corner sofa , a library area, a full size pool table, music system, 50″ plasma TV and games consoles.

The young person will be assigned a key worker who will take the lead responsibility in implementing the care plan.

Each young person will be actively encouraged to take part in aspects of their life and plan for the future. Young people will be encouraged to be actively involved in the local community.

The below floor consists of a self contained recently fully refurbished modern apartment and can be used for solo or semi-independent placements. There is a kitchen diner, a living room , a bathroom, one young persons bedroom , staff sleep in room and an office/staff sleep in room.

Southport is a large seaside town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England. With an approximate population of 90,336 Southport is the eleventh most populous settlement in North West England.

Southport lies on the Irish Sea coast of North West England and is fringed to the north by the Ribble estuary. The town is situated 16.7 miles to the north of the city of Liverpool and 14.8 miles southwest of the city of Preston.

Extensive sand dunes stretch for several miles between Birkdale and Woodvale to the south of the town. The Ainsdale sand dunes have been designated as a National Nature Reserve in England and a Ramsar site. Local fauna include the Natterjack toad and the Sand lizard. The town contains examples of Victorian architecture and town planning, on Lord Street and elsewhere. A particular feature of the town is the extensive tree planting. This was one of the conditions required by the Hesketh family when they made land available for development in the 19th century. Hesketh Park at the northern end of the town is named after the Hesketh family, having been built on land donated by Rev. Charles Hesketh.

Southport today is still one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK. It hosts varied events including an annual air show on and over the beach, and the largest independent flower show in the UK in Victoria Park. The town is at the centre of England’s Golf Coast and has hosted The Open Championship at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
